How this free CogAT practice test works
Each session randomly selects five original questions from each reasoning battery for the grade you choose. Younger-grade sessions use picture-supported questions wherever the question bank provides them. Upper-grade Verbal and Quantitative questions appropriately use words and numbers, while Nonverbal questions use visual figures and patterns.
Verbal reasoning
Practice relationships, classifications, analogies, and completion tasks using language or picture-supported concepts.
Quantitative reasoning
Practice number relationships, sequences, analogies, and reasoning puzzles.
Nonverbal reasoning
Practice figure relationships, matrices, classifications, patterns, and spatial reasoning.
What the result means
The final percentage and battery breakdown describe only this short practice session. They help identify which question families to practice next. Because the questions are randomized and this is not a normed assessment, results can change from one session to another and cannot be converted into an official CogAT score or gifted-program decision.
