This Privacy Policy explains how MAANHAAS LLC handles personal information when you use CogAT.org, create an account, purchase a Practice Pass, complete practice activities, subscribe to emails, or contact us.
1. Who We Are
CogAT.org is owned and operated by MAANHAAS LLC, a United States limited liability company (“CogAT.org,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). MAANHAAS LLC is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use CogAT.org, we may collect:
- Adult account information: name, email address, username, password in protected form, and account preferences.
- Order information: purchased product, price, currency, billing address, transaction identifiers, payment status, and refund history. Payments are processed by Stripe through WooCommerce; we do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.
- Learner and practice information: selected grade or practice level, answers, scores, session timing, progress, and activity history connected to the adult-managed account. We do not require a child’s full name, school name, photograph, precise location, or date of birth for ordinary practice.
- Communications: information submitted in support requests, feedback, reviews, or other messages.
- Email information: email address, consent record, subscription status, and engagement information associated with requested resources or marketing messages.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring page, cookie or similar identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, security events, and error logs.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and secure CogAT.org; create and administer adult-managed accounts; process purchases and refunds; deliver 90-day Practice Pass access; save practice progress and show results; provide support; send requested resources and optional emails; detect fraud, abuse, or technical problems; improve content and performance; and comply with legal obligations.
Practice results are educational feedback. They are not official CogAT scores, intelligence assessments, school-placement decisions, or guarantees of future performance. We do not use children’s personal information for targeted advertising or to train general-purpose artificial-intelligence models.
4. Children’s Privacy
CogAT.org provides educational practice that may be used by children. A parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult must create and manage the account, make purchases, and supervise a child’s use.
Where the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires notice and verifiable parental consent, we will provide the required notice and obtain consent before collecting personal information online from a child, unless a legal exception applies. We limit child-related information to what is reasonably necessary to provide practice, save progress, maintain security, and support the parent-managed account.
We do not allow children to publicly post profiles, messages, photographs, audio, or other personal information through the practice service. We do not sell children’s personal information or disclose it for targeted advertising.
A parent or legal guardian may contact us to review, correct, or delete a child’s personal information; withdraw consent; or prevent further collection or use. We will take reasonable steps to verify the requester’s identity and authority. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child without required consent, we will delete it or take another action permitted by law.
The operator responsible for children’s information is MAANHAAS LLC at the address, email, and telephone number listed below. Service providers may process information only to perform contracted functions for CogAT.org.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use technologies necessary for login, account security, shopping-cart and checkout operation, fraud prevention, preferences, and site performance. We may also use limited analytics to understand visits and improve the website. Where required, optional technologies are used only after consent and may be managed through the available cookie settings or browser controls.
CogAT.org does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We therefore do not currently offer a sale or targeted-advertising opt-out. Because there is no consistent industry response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, the website does not currently respond to them.
6. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to providers that help operate CogAT.org, including website hosting and security providers, WordPress and WooCommerce services, Stripe for payment processing, and MailPoet or another configured provider for email delivery. We may also disclose information when you direct us to do so; to comply with law or valid legal process; to protect users, CogAT.org, or legal rights; or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of assets subject to applicable privacy protections.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
7. Retention
We retain account and practice information while the account remains active and as reasonably necessary to provide access, preserve requested progress, resolve disputes, protect security, and meet legal obligations. Order and tax records may be retained for legally required recordkeeping periods. Email subscription information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to a limited suppression record used to honor the opt-out. Support and security records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose.
Child-related personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and is deleted using reasonable measures when no longer needed. Backup copies are removed through normal backup-rotation cycles.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep account credentials confidential and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights, including portability, restriction, objection, appeal, or withdrawal of consent. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify identity or authority and will respond within applicable legal deadlines. We will not unlawfully discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.
10. International Use
MAANHAAS LLC operates CogAT.org from the United States. Purchases are initially intended for customers in locations made available at checkout. If information is transferred from another country, it may be processed in the United States, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.
11. External Services and Links
CogAT.org may link to or embed services operated by others. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We remain responsible for our own disclosures and obligations relating to third-party collection through CogAT.org.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Services, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the revised policy with a new date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
